Do we need graphic overlay embossing if we use metal domes?

A: While not strictly required, combining graphic overlay embossing (such as rim or pillow embossing) with internal metal domes is highly recommended. The embossed overlay guides the user’s finger to the exact center of the key, while the underlying metal dome delivers the crisp mechanical “snap” feedback, maximizing both accuracy and ergonomics.

Can you integrate LED backlighting with metal dome membrane switches?
